Tree shelterbelts add value to productive pasture

Here in the Tasmanian countryside, both introduced species (conifers) and native species (eucalypts) have been planted along fencelines to provide crops and livestock with shelter from the wind, rain and sun. Dairy cows produce more milk, beef cattle more meat and crops require less irrigation if shelterbelts are planted and managed properly.
